I was getting gout at least once a year. Terrible pain which started becoming more and more frequent. My family doctor said I could take medicine the rest of my life to prevent attacks. I didn't like that idea. So I did some reading online. I cut out red meat, sea food, and alcohol. I was still getting gout. I ate lots of cherries and blueberries and still wasn't free from gout attacks.
So I decided to eat red meat and drink beer in moderation but start exercising regularly and eating a processed food free diet. I eat steak with a big bowl of leafy greens. I eat very little bread. I don't drink sugary drinks very often. A soda once a week or less. And I really cut down my salt intake. Basically all my meals are made from scratch. I walk a minimum 30mins 4 days a week. I try for 60 mins 5 days a week. Not only have a I dropped a considerable amount of weight I no longer get gout. I'm a beer lover so I have a single beer a day sometimes 3-4 on the weekend and no longer get gout. It has been over 2 years since I suffered any crippling pain. It seems all the crap and perservatives in many foods screw with your body's ability to process proteins and elevates uric acid. Also being inactive allows your joints to get build up. Lots of fresh foods, throw out the cold cuts, eat less bread and get out and move and sweat. That's what worked for me!
