When I first looked at Castor oil for Gout I was astonished at the history of Castor oil and how for centuries Castor oil has been used as a cure and natural remedy for many ailments. One of these ailments is for the reducing or aiding in gout inflammation and gout pain.
Castor oil plant
I came across castor oil for gout as a potential cure after my 79 year old mother had a major problem with her knee.
Some doctors wanted to operate on her with a possible knee replacement on the cards.
Being open minded my mother looked at her good old Folk medicines and remedies and came across Castor oil packs which her Mother and Grandmother had used when they were children.
So she made up the pack and used it on her knee for a week every day.
By the end of the week she had vast improvement in both the pain and movement.
Two weeks later she has a spring in her knee and no pain at all.
She swears that daily she could see and feel improvement to her knee.
This got me thinking, perhaps this remedy is good for gout also.
In my investigations I came across two famous people who started to revive the marvelous use of oil.
One was the Father of American Herbology Dr John R. Christopher and the other was
Edgar Cayce, an old school type of American psychic who had miraculous healings in his time.
He was from a different school of thought and also was a different breed of Cat in his methods and ideas. Look him up on Google 116,000 references and numerous books. which also had castor oil for gout cures in written in them.
So I investigated more and found out that these Packs are fantastic for Arthritis sufferers, and of course Gout Sufferers.
Palma Christi was used by the Ancient Africans, Egyptians and Indians for a huge variety of illnesses and has been used for over 4000 years as a cure for many ailments.
Castor oil comes from the seeds of the Castor oil plant, first documented in the Ebers Papyrus in 1550 B.C.
Called the " Palma Christi " or " Hand of Christ " for its known medicinal purposes I believe this to be a Gout Cure to try for yourself.
The method to use is a patch, and to make a patch you require the following basic items.
* Flannel cloth
* Cold Pressed Castor oil from a Health food store
* A bowl
* Plastic sheet / thick sheet to stop staining
* a towel
* Glad Wrap or plastic wrap
* water bottle or heat packs
Ok here is the method.
Cut the flannel cloth so that it folds into a 8 inch x 12 inch square.
Remember this requires the flannel to be folded at least 3 times to make this size square so that it retains the Oil.
Soak the cloth in the bowl with the oil.
Remove
and apply the oil patch to the affected area.. Obviously the patch size
can vary pending on the size of the area that is in pain or inflamed.
Put the sheet under the person being treated to stop staining on the chair or bed.
Wrap the patch and the affected area in the plastic wrap to retain the heat and to make sure the oil stays on the right area.
Put a heat pack or water bottle on top of the affected area to make the heat work the oil into the body.
Wrap all this and pin it together with the towel.
Relax for between 30 minutes up to an hour and take everything off and clean off the excess oil with Baking soda.
Repeat this up to a week pending the injury.
This will work on most arthritic painful areas as well as other ailments.
Buy the oil from a health food store and make sure it is cold pressed. Use the external oil version.
Try it, it can only help your health.
Please note:
You must seek medical advice before using Castor Oil.
Care must be taken if you are pregnant.
