Absolute: Stress causes gout!

by mark

There is no doubt that stress causes gout attacks. If I was to have a heated disagreement/argument over a certain policy that I feel strong about with co-workers I will almost definitiely get gout within a 24 to 48 hour preiod!

thanks to Uloric, which I can take after suffering from gout for 22 years (bad side effects from allopurinol)I can for the first time go without an attack for say 8 months...but...should I get upset and angry due to a feeling of injustice or not valued after I have over-performed on my job, get hassled or have others resent it, jealousy etc...it upsets me emotionally and I will get usually a small attack that last for a couple of days, even with an almost vegetarian diet and less white wine...even while on the Uloric...the emotional stress will cause gout! 22 years of my own conscious, sensitive proof!

Baking soda helped beat my gout
by: Anonymous

Hi there! I had a couple of bouts of gout. First time I used prescription meds. The second time I used 1/4 tsp baking soda in 1/2 c of water. Dissolved the soda in water, drank it and drank another 1 cup of water. Within one 24 hour period I was over the gout. I used a total of 1 1/4 tsp. of baking soda. Wow this worked really well. Also I quit eating foods with salt in it. Processed foods of any kind. I also drink lots of water, at least 6 glasses each day. I asked my doctor before I used the soda, cause I was told to do so, so I did. I am no doctor, so I too am saying you should tell your doctor before you try this. Thanks for your time. :)
