Suffered my first gout attack in 1997 at age 49. My second attack was 2004, and attacks came more frenguently after 2004. In 2012 I read a book " Wheat Belly" and decided to give up eating Wheat and all Wheat products. I gave up eating Wheat for the simple reason that I believe it was not healthy after reading the book. Within six months I had my blood pressure medication reduced and after a year I didn't have to take BP medication in early 2015 I notice that I had not suffered a Gout attack for quite awhile in fact not since I gave up wheat, which also included Beer. Most beer is made from wheat. In June 2015 I decided to sabotage myself by eating wheat and drinking a few beer. BBQ season was just too tempting. Well quests what? Within two weeks I had a severe recurrence of my gout. I am, at this writing taken indometicine Sp? My gout has eased somewhat and needless to say I will not be eating any more wheat. I am just a gout sufferer who thinks I have found my own personal cure or preventative.. No more no less.
