Gout attacks due to stress by Joe

I feel very strongly that stress does cause my Gout attacks sometimes!I usually can eat pretty much all the bad foods that supposedly cause Gout. But the last two times that I had a flair up I was stressing over things.
Because it seems to come on for no apparent reason. I am 57 and retired I have had flair ups and full blown Gout since I was about 37. I was a supervisor on my job and did have some stress at times but since I have retired I have started my own business.I have had some stress from time to time and I do think is has brought on the Gout attacks. Indocin seems to clear mine up. Coltracine if it gets really bad.

I'm sorry but I have to be leery about people who want you to buy this or that which will cure gout when the gout sufferers already know: 1) standard prescription gout medicine does not cure and it does not always prevent gout attacks; 2) there are known home remedies that control uric acid without paying lots of $; 3) losing weight and drinking water are the two greatest things one can do to help rid your body of high uric acid levels; seeing a dietitian can help you lose weight in a controlled manner without the risk of losing weight rapidly, that will cause an attack; all this is found here on this website, www.gout-aware.com.

I DO NOT LIKE WHEN SOMEONE WANTS TO CASH IN ON OUR PAIN! THIS PAIN IS LIKE NO OTHER PAIN...IT IS DEBILITATING AND EXCRUCIATING. IT CAN ALSO BE LIFE-THREATENING WHEN YOU ARE ON STEROIDS, TRAMADOL, AND INDOCIN AND ARE TRYING TO CARRY ON A NORMAL LIFE STYLE....AND IT CAN ALSO BE LIFE-THREATENING OF YOU DRINK TOO MUCH CHERRY JUICE (HIGH POTASSIUM LEVELS CAN KILL YOU!)....

SO BEWARE OF SMOKE AND MIRROR ADVERTISING, LIKE THE ONE JUST DONE HERE!

Gout attacks due to stress by Joe

I agree. I wrote my info on my gout attack already on gout-aware.com. I was eating too of shellfish, meats, etc....but quit drinking alcohol 4 years ago so alcohol wasn't an issue...I'm female--the unlucky 10% of the gout sufferers. Didn't have a clue about uric acid, though my test in June, 2010 showed 9.8. The level in January at the hospital ER showed 9.0 and that's when they diagnosed me with gout (I went in cuz I couldn't walk with the excruciating pain after a foot cellulitis on antibiotics for 10 days.

I was working 3 jobs for 2.5 yrs and in Oct and November I had mega stress-both adult children had car/motorcycle accidents...I was trying to save for a cruise (very hard to do even though we got a great price for it)...and other stressers occurred and BOOM! IT HIT ME.

Thanks to this website, I am doing better. I am taking the apple cider vinegar...not religiously but trying to do at least once a day after meals.

I take the Indocin at night if I feel like it's coming on--I only have a few pills from the Jan ER visit and no health ins...

I saw a dietitian who I could lose weight...still only lost 12 lbs. I've been messing up lately but have to get back on track....

Just bought a juicer last nite to help me continue on my road of good health.

Try the apple cider vinegar cocktail Joe, it could save you lots of pain.

Sincerely, Terri
