Gout in the knees and hips.

by Donald Rioux
(Chapleau on.canada)

I have realised that for myself gout attacks are not going to stop completely. I have had it in my toes at first and then ankles and recently in my knees. It usually lasts the best part of a week with treatment colchicine and indo methacin as a pain killer. I can control it pretty good by watching what I eat and making sure I don't drink too much beer and absolutely no hard liquor or red meat. The pain one goes through will make you give up what ever it takes. I am at this moment suffering with gout it my hip which is a new one for me and I wonder what it will do in the future so I will be asking my doctor to put me on allopurinol daily tablets which I have avoided up to now. I hope it works for me I am 57years old and looking forward to retiring without this very disabling blood disorder.

Mary's Gout medicine suggestions
by: Peter

Hi Mary, I agree with your comments, but in saying this. Before you take any herb or medicine you must consult a doctor to see if it may affect the medicine you may be on already or affect previous medical conditions. M
ixing medicines and herbal concoctions may be a great health risk.
I agree that ACV and Ginger are excellent for controlling Gout, and exercise is essential.
Your idea of raising your leg after walking is excellent. I also do this during an attack.

regards

Peter

some tips for gout and arthritis
by: mary

medications over the counter and prescriptions do not help much with gout and arthritis in my experience. i have both the past few years and they bother me the most in winter time when the cold hits. My suggestions are to take apple cider vinegar and fresh ginger that i ground adn soak in hot water, drink the whole thing and chew the ground ginger after i drind teh liquid. you can do separately or together, the vinegar and the ginger. i would do separately. make sure you buy the quality vinegar from Brag's, it's organic, unfefined, unfiltered with the mother, so you can get the maximum benefits. trust me, it helps. but again, you can never get rid of this disease completely. you slow it down, delay it through your aging years and less sufferings. also dont forget to exercise. I do fast walking everyday for 90 minutes ( you can spread it out through the day, no need to do at one time). the more gout + arthritis bother me, the more i walk, and i walk through my pain. then come home, lay on my sofa with my legs straight with a pillow under my knees for elevation and support. exercise is very important to keep you moving and keep your joints and bones healthy. doctors dont tell you that , they prescribe you poison to take with tone of side effects that they called remedies and pain killers. i never take any of those. worst senario baby aspirin taken w/calcium may help. 3baby aspirin w/one 500mg calcium, 3 time a day for one week.(make sure you dont have problem or allergic to aspirin. good luck.
