Mrs humphreys

I have just had my first gout attack. My father had it so I tried cider vinegar and sour cherry juice which gave relief after three days although I had to buy a pair of crutches to walk with.
I am terrified that I will have another flare up and am worried that I will eat something by mistake, I have read much conflicting information which is unhelpful. I will keep with cider vinegar as I feel generally much better for it. The bicarbonate is a bit sodium isn’t it?

Hi there,

yes you have to be wary of Bi-carb due to sodium.
You should get a blood test to see what your uric acid levels are like. ACV works for me, but so does a good diet and plenty of water.
AlSo note that you should clean your teeth after taking avc as it does eat the teeth enamel.
And dont take it if you have a stomach disorder of any kind.
I personally recommend seeing a doctor before taking anythng.
regards

peter
