Gout and eggs
by: Peter

Hi Justin,
I agree with you.
I am finding that more readers from Asia are being affected by their high diet of eggs and seem to be getting more gout. Now this can be from many reasons, such as they are frying their eggs, or the chickens are not organic and are fed poor quality food, or perhaps they are eating other high protein foods with the eggs causing gout.
Eggs are also a rich source of protein low in purines so that is good for us gout sufferers. Furthermore, eggs carry all of the B vitamins from B1 to B12 including choline, biotin and folic acid. No other food has a higher concentration of choline than eggs.
Eggs are a popular form of protein, breakfast food and an absolute favorite in the kitchen. Fortunately, eggs are also low in purines which is good news for those dealing with gout. This means that through moderate consumption eggs can have little to no effect on your uric acid levels. In addition, eggs contain omega-3 fatty acids, powerful anti-inflammatory substance that can help provide relief from gout attacks.

As a popular form of protein eggs are a great replacements for meals that would otherwise have high purine proteins. It’s important to remember that moderation is an important part of your lifestyle change when combatting gout, so while eggs are on the ‘ok-to-consume’ list it’s best to eat only 1 to 6 eggs a week.

Eggs <> Gout
by: Justin

Gout isn't affected within a couple of hours and eggs are on the approved food list. The body takes up to 4 days to respond to dietary changes so whatever spurred the re-attack was something thadt was already going to happen. Eggs are just said to be used in moderation due to the cholesterol.
